......The Door in Alliston was the first of Highlands YFC's "the Door" youth centres. Started in 1997, the Door was located in a 800 square foot store front. Within a very short period of time, we outgrew this facility and moved into the old Beaver Lumber store where we stayed for three years. |

| ......At the end of our three year sojourn, we found ourselves in need to a new location, but there was no place to rent. So, feeling God's leading to do so, we decided to buy a place. Within a very short period we had the money needed to put a rather sizable down payment on a beautiful three story house on the main street of alliston. |

......Through many staff changes, location changes, good times and hard times, we saw God's hand at work. We were also very blessed to have JanetVandeerZaag involved in the Door from day one, first as a volunteer, then as the intern director as we were hiring Bev Ranson. |
